Automattic presented a brand-new ad network called Blaze which positions advertising on complimentary WordPress.com websites and Tumblr. Advertising starts at $5/month.
Automattic is the company behind WordPress.com, WooCommerce, Akismet, Tumblr and other companies.
It was founded by Matt Mullenweg, the entrepreneur who established the totally free WordPress open-source content management system (CMS).
Blaze Advertising Network
The advertising network was initially presented in April 2022 as a network exclusively for Tumblr users to position advertisements on other Tumblr pages.
Automattic announced that the network is now expanded to blog writers on WordPress.com and WordPress self-hosted publishers who have the Automattic Jetpack WordPress plugin set up.
Publishers on WordPress.com will have the ability to use the WordPress dashboard at wordpress.com/advertising to get started selecting pages to market.
Advertising payment is for impressions, not clicks.
Those who are utilizing the WordPress CMS can access Blaze through the Jetpack plugin.
If Jetpack isn’t currently installed then it should be set up, either the free or premium variation works.
Those who are using Jetpack can then start the project from the WordPress.com control panel at https://wordpress.com/home.
From there a user browses to the Posts or the Pages screen and scrolls to select the posts or pages for advertising, clicking a three-dot (ellipsis) menu to choose the Promote with Blaze alternative.
The user interface allows marketers to choose the audience that will see the ads. Audience choice is segmented by what continent the advertisements will appear in, what type of devices will see the ads (mobile or desktop) and by what subject the ads will be shown in.
Ads Are Revealed The advertising can appear from amongst millions of Tumblr and free WordPress.com websites. Management of the Blaze marketing campaign is done through the dashboard interface at wordpress.com/advertising.
The projects are set up by a day-to-day spending plan and by dates that the marketing will be revealed. Blaze ads include a title, a bit and an image.
According to the Blaze support page:”Title: This appears above your image and as bolded text. You can compose an optimum of 80 characters here, use them wisely to catch the viewer’s attention.
Bit: A brief text description of your post that appears underneath your image. You can write a maximum of 120 characters here. We advise using this text to support your heading and provide audiences more context about what they will see when they click the advertisement and arrive at your material.
Image: Publish an image to represent your post. You can utilize the crop tool to adjust your image’s appearance in the advertisement.”
